NeuraTiM Stock&Find
Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
Stock&Find stores your inventory locally without an account or analytics. Optional online searches, feedback, sharing and exports may send data outside the app. This policy explains those choices and separately covers the website and donations.
1. Scope and responsibility
This policy covers NeuraTiM Stock&Find for Android, iOS and the web, and this website. NeuraTiM is the independent developer responsible for the personal data it processes as described here.
The app is free, has no advertising and has no paid tier.
2. No routine collection of your inventory
The developer does not routinely receive your inventory or track your use of the app. Optional features are described in section 6. Ordinary inventory use does not require or collect:
- Account details, names, email addresses or phone numbers; an email address is optional when sending feedback
- Advertising identifiers or tracking IDs
- Device location data; place names are entered by you
- Contacts, calendars, call logs, messages or lists of installed apps
- Analytics, usage statistics or automatic diagnostic and crash reports
- Payment details; optional website donations are separate from the app
3. Data stored on your device
The app stores the information needed to manage your inventory offline, including:
- Items: name, type, quantities in use and in storage, desired spares, descriptions and notes
- Places, optional parent places and place photos
- Categories and tags, including the initial suggestions
- Scanned or typed barcodes and their links to items
- Per-unit expiry dates and your Expiring soon time window
- Shopping lists, manual entries and per-item automatic-restocking preferences
- The history of additions, uses, removals, moves and corrections
- Photos attached to items or places
- Settings such as language, theme, advanced fields and the three optional online searches
4. Storage and backups
On Android and iOS, inventory data is stored in the app's private storage, protected by the operating system's app isolation.
On the web, it is stored in your browser for the app's site. Clearing that site's data removes the local inventory.
Stock&Find does not provide cloud synchronisation of your inventory. Exported files, data you share and any operating-system backups are separate copies managed outside the app.
5. Permissions and their purpose
Permissions are requested when a feature needs them. You can refuse or revoke them in system settings. Barcode entry remains available without camera access.
- Camera: scanning processes frames on the device without saving the scanner video. Photos you deliberately take for an item or place are saved locally.
- Photo library: only the picture you select is copied into the app, resized and cropped to your chosen frame. The app does not upload or catalogue your photo library.
- Notifications: the daily reminder you enable is scheduled locally, without a remote push service.
- Exact alarms on Android: used to schedule the daily reminder at your chosen time, subject to system permissions and restrictions.
- Files: you choose which backup to restore and where to export or share a backup.
6. Optional transfers and network requests
Inventory management does not require uploading your data. The following actions can transfer selected data. Online services also receive standard connection information, such as your IP address, and apply their own privacy policies.
- Product lookup: off by default. A search sends a barcode to Open Food Facts and related catalogues, or Open Library for books. The bulk lookup in Settings uses saved barcodes. Stock quantities, locations and notes are not included.
- Name search: off by default. Searches may use open catalogues, Go-UPC, Buycott, UPCitemdb, barcode-list, DuckDuckGo or sources you add. They send a barcode, or your search words when no code is available. Results are suggestions until you choose one. Available sources vary by platform; some browser requests may pass through the site's proxy rather than going directly to the catalogue.
- Picture search: off by default. Your search words are sent to Wikimedia Commons and Openverse to find pictures. Stock quantities and locations are not included.
- Feedback: submitting Suggest an improvement sends your message, an email address if provided, and the app version, platform and language to the developer. Inventory records and photos are not attached automatically. Include only information you intend to share.
- App sharing: you can send a shopping list to NeuraTiM Checklist or share dated records with LifeCue. Direct app links pass data between apps on the same device. A system share destination may send it over the network; the receiving app's rules apply to its copy.
- Backup export: a plain, unencrypted file is saved or shared to your chosen destination. A cloud or messaging destination can upload it. Keep the file somewhere you trust.
7. Keeping and deleting data
You control the inventory on your device. Deleting it in Stock&Find does not delete exported backups, copies in other apps or information you previously sent in feedback or payments.
- Delete an item or place in the app. Archive an item to hide it from active lists while keeping its stock and history.
- Settings → Delete everything removes the app's inventory records, including items, places, categories and history, from this device.
- Uninstalling normally removes local app data; backups or copies retained by your operating system may remain.
- In the web version, clear the app site's data in your browser.
8. Security
Local data relies on your device and browser protections. Use a screen lock and keep your system up to date. No storage method is completely risk-free.
There is no central Stock&Find inventory database. Optional online features involve network requests and the receiving services; offline operation does not make those services risk-free.
Exported backups are not encrypted by the app. Anyone who can read the file can read its contents. Protect copies you keep or share.
9. Children
The app is not designed for children under 13, or the relevant minimum age in your country. It does not routinely collect inventory data from users. Children should not send personal information through optional feedback or payment services.
10. Third-party libraries
The app uses libraries for local storage, reminders, barcode scanning, photos, files, sharing and opening links. Network access is needed only for features that communicate with external services.
The app contains no advertising, attribution, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
An HTTP client supports the optional product, name and picture searches and feedback submission. It does not add analytics of its own.
11. Website and donations
The website introduces the app and hosts its browser version. Website visits and optional donations involve services separate from local inventory storage.
- Hosting: Cloudflare may process IP addresses, browser information and requested pages to deliver and protect the site. The site does not use advertising or audience-measurement analytics. Payment services may use their own necessary security technologies.
- Language: your chosen website language is remembered in browser local storage.
- Donations: Stripe, Ko-fi, PayPal or GitHub Sponsors processes the payment you choose to make. The developer may receive transaction and receipt details, including your email address, depending on the provider. Full card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored as inventory data. The provider's privacy policy applies.
- Try it: the embedded web app stores your inventory in this browser as described above.
- External links: GitHub, neuratim.com and download services have their own privacy policies.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal data, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a data protection authority. These rights can apply to feedback and donation records even though inventory stays local.
The developer does not sell your inventory data. Information you deliberately send to services is handled as described in sections 6 and 11.
For requests concerning data held by the developer, use the contact address below. For data held by a payment or other service, you may also need to contact that provider.
13. Policy changes
Changes will be published here with an updated date. Changes to the app's data handling will also be noted in the relevant release notes. A revised policy does not retroactively authorise previously undisclosed collection.
